I always forget to post as I am working on a project. O well enjoy another large photo dump. This time I took an old trailer I had sitting in the weeds and a wood chipper I previously cut up to fit on a bigger trailer and made the two fit together. While I was at it I ditched the electric over hydraulics on the dump trailer (now powered off the hydraulics of the chipper) and improved a few other things like brand new gauge panel, electric actuator for fuel control, and an entire new scratch made wiring harness.

Project Clean Slate is Coming Along. What started out as a simple task to make motor mounts spiraled way out of control.

2nd photo dump to get us caught up on Project Clean Slate. After welding in the new front subframe I couldn’t just use the shocks they recommend. That would be too easy. I decided to make a shock tower brace that would also utilize the front motor mount for the CJaa engine we are installing. Also decided to upgrade the already upgraded suspension to a cantilever design for unlimited adjustability. Next step will be a transmission cross member since we are just holding that up currently with ratchet straps. All in all this is the first time it has been able to roll since we cut the front end off about a month ago.

Project Basket Case has been extended once again. This time we stretched the rear frame and added mounts for a 15 gallon fuel cell. #ʙᴜɪʟᴛɴᴏᴛʙᴏᴜɢʜᴛ

Started making a frame extension and mounting brackets for a fuel tank (15 gallon fuel cell) for Project Basket Case a few weeks ago. Got distracted halfway through by race car parts (see previous post), but today I finished the task. Turned out very good I must say. Go to the comments for a video.

This car will be about 2% c4 corvette, 97% C.D.C. Fabrication, a dash of VW TDI for good luck, and 150% Awesome fun. #ʙᴜɪʟᴛɴᴏᴛʙᴏᴜɢʜᴛ

Decided to take a break on project Basket Case and the stump grinder restoration. (Will have updates on those later) Got the ‘Vette pulled back in and finished stripping it out. I have now dubbed this thing “Project Clean Slate” because when it’s all said and done the only things left original will be the majority of the frame and the parts of the body that are glued to said frame. It will be about 2% c4 corvette and about 97% CDC fabrication with a sprinkle of Volkswagon for good measure. I guarantee it will be 150% fun though.

Finally got Project Basket Case dug out of the trailer after moving, but moving was not kind on this project car. Lots of parts are only tacked together just in case they interfere with something else down the road. Needless to say we had to redo some things. But as always here at C.D.C. we took that as an opportunity to make it even better. This time we made better and stronger ladder bars for the front suspension since the old ones were not up to the task. Next up fuel tank or maybe rear 4 link? Who knows maybe we will finally start the corvette project. Stay tuned to find out!
