Mark your calendars, Silver City! Here is our Pick It Up - Toss No Más cleanup schedule for the year. We meet on the third Saturday of (almost) every month to pick up litter and debris from our streets, parks, trails, and neighborhoods. Litter is ugly, leads to chemical and micro-plastic pollution, decreases tourism and small business revenue, and can lead to car accidents. YOU CAN HELP by donating 1-3 hours of your time at a litter cleanup. Bring a friend or the whole family. It's a great way to exercise, help our community, and kick off a fun weekend in beautiful Silver City. We hope to see you on February 21st for our first cleanup!

Happy New Year, neighbors! Before our 2026 cleanups begin (on February 21st), we are reflecting on the successes of our 2025 program. You can read more about our annual program review on our website: silvercitytossnomas.org/2025-year-in-review/. We are so thankful for all of the cleanup volunteers and community supporters that drive our program. Together, we picked up 7,570 lbs. of trash and debris around Silver City. That's an incredible total for just ten, morning cleanups! The trash we collected included ci******es and bottles dropped as litter, wrappers blown out of trash cans and dumpsters by the wind, highway debris from uncovered loads and accidents, and household items that floated away during storms. City workers and Department of Transportation staff work constantly to clean up this trash, but there's just too much. Our entire community needs to work together to change habits, improve our waste management systems, and pick up the litter that has already fallen on the ground. Together, we can make Silver City an even cleaner, safer, healthier, and more beautiful place to live!

In light of the recent accident on Interstate 10, we are asking our friends to share to spread awareness!!

A neighborhood highway hero with Silverback Towing was struck down while providing a roadside service on I-10 corridor of Southwest New Mexico. They were struck and then left by the driver on the side of road. 😡 This has to stop!!! Our hardworking guys shouldn't fear death for wanting to help someone out!

Are prayers and condolences go to Silverback and the family of the gentleman that lost his life..

Please!! If you see flashing lights or a broken down vehicle, SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER!! When you see a tow truck at work, help them stay safe! It's the law and the right thing to do! They have family's and lives to come home to.
It's discouraging to be so worried about sending a driver out on a call, thinking they'll never make it home.
Please share and stay aware!!

Our October cleanup event is happening this Saturday, October 18th, from 9am-noon. Whether you have 30 minutes or the entire 3 hours, can fill up a truck bed or a single bag, we appreciate all levels of volunteer effort! 💖 See you on Saturday to clean up the streets, parks, trails, and neighborhoods of beautiful Silver City 🍂

Thank you, volunteers!!! During our August community litter cleanup, 20 volunteers gave 57 hours of their time to clean up 1,000 pounds of litter from our Silver City streets, neighborhoods, parks, and waterways. That's half a ton of trash moved to the landfill. Our roadways are a little safer to drive on. Our town looks even more beautiful. Our neighborhoods, parks, and trails are cleaner and healthier. And our water and environment are safer from contamination. Thank you, volunteers! Together, we can make a difference!
