🚗 DIAGNOSTIC CASE STUDY – 2012 CHEVY TRAVERSE 🚗
Customer concern: No crank, intermittent dash lights, security light illuminated, and multiple body control module faults.
Initial trouble codes:
• B1370-06 – Ignition 1 Circuit Fault
• B1380-06 – Accessory Circuit Fault
Many parts changers would immediately suspect an ignition switch, BCM, starter, or theft system issue. Instead, we followed the data.
Our testing found:
✅ Battery voltage present
✅ Headlights and other accessories functioning
✅ Only 2.4 volts reaching the ignition switch feed circuit instead of full battery voltage
Further inspection led us to the passenger-side fuse block where we discovered severe corrosion and terminal damage caused by moisture intrusion. The damaged connections created high resistance, resulting in voltage loss to critical ignition and BCM circuits.
The result?
• No crank condition
• Intermittent dash operation
• Security system warnings
• BCM communication and ignition circuit faults
Repair requires replacement of damaged connectors, wiring repairs, fuse block evaluation/replacement, and correction of the water intrusion source.
This is why proper diagnostics matter. The fault wasn’t the ignition switch—it was a power distribution failure hidden inside a corroded fuse block connection.
At our shop, we don’t guess. We test, verify, and repair the root cause.
