Patriot Day — September 11, 2001 🇺🇸 Never Forget.

Today we pause to remember the 2,977 innocent lives taken at the hands of terrorists — in New York City, at the Pentagon, and on Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA.

Among them were 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, and 55 military personnel who ran toward danger to save others.

In 2001, President George W. Bush proclaimed September 11th as Patriot Day. It was first observed on September 11, 2002, and in 2009 Congress designated it as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

I remember exactly where I was standing when I saw it happen on TV. As an RN who works closely with fire, that day stays with me differently — I know those radios, that dedication, that courage. I know the toll this took on nearby hospitals.

Our family holds this day close. Our son serves in the Navy, and Dave’s dad served in the Air Force. Today we honor all who served, all who serve, and all who never came home.

We will never forget.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Honoring the American Worker Since 1882

Labor Day started Sept 5, 1882, when 10,000 workers marched in New York City for the 8-hour workday & the end of child labor. Oregon made it official in 1887, and in 1894 — after the Pullman Strike — President Grover Cleveland signed it into federal law.

Since then, the first Monday in September has been about one thing: celebrating hard work.

And you’ve earned that campsite view — whether you’re grilling in a B-Van (35-40 sq ft of open walkable floor when the bed's tucked!) or your travel trailer.

We are CLOSED today Mon 9/7 for Labor Day to be with our families. Back open Tuesday 8am.
