Found the cause of the ticking noise in front of the engine. This chain tensioner failure shows that new parts does not necessarily mean good parts. This customer had new timing chains and tensioners installed at another shop very recently.

Fuel tank accidentally had DEF added, but customer caught mistake before starting vehicle.
Removed tank and drained, added fuel and good to go.
