Free Boating Safety Course

Thinking about getting out on the water? Make sure you know the rules before you launch. 🚤

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is sharing information about a FREE Boating Safety Education Course on Saturday, September 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Grant Township Center Community Room, 26725 W. Molidor Road in Ingleside.

This course will cover important information every boater should know, including:

• Boat registration and titling
• Age requirements for boat operators
• Required safety equipment
• Navigation rules and regulations
• Boating Under the Influence (BUI)
• Personal watercraft (PWC) regulations
• Rules for towing tubes, skis and other recreational equipment
• Basic maintenance and emergency procedures
• And other Illinois boating laws and safety requirements

Whether you're a new boater or just want a refresher before spending more time on the water, this is a great opportunity to learn how to operate your boat safely and responsibly.

Registration is required. To register, email [email protected] and provide the names and phone numbers of those attending.

Due to the poor air quality today in our areas, Spring Lake Marina boat rentals has made the decision to close rentals today, Thursday, July 16. This is for the safety and health concerns for not only our customers, but our staff included. Part time seasonal work at our Boat Rentals assisting guests. Minimum 3 and up to 5 shifts per week and hours vary based on reservations.
