Day 2 of fire and wow was Mother Nature still slapping us in the face… but we fought back and gave it what we could. Sincerely blessed for the local ranchers and volunteers. We realize resources are spread thin. Literally the Antelope fires are being fought by all volunteers, ranchers, and local RFPAs. Hopefully tomorrow brings better conditions and we can relax a little.

Darn Mother Nature… we had hundreds of lightening strikes and now this is the result. Thank goodness for local ranchers and volunteers stepping up. Seriously this takes a team and what scary fire conditions this afternoon. Let’s pray the dozer lines hold, no one gets hurt, and that our guests scheduled for this weekend will return when it’s safe conditions. We are bummed to cancel, but this fire is no joke. Mother Nature you are beautiful, but sometimes your upper hand is not pleasant.

Week 24: We got lights!!! Pretty cool seeing the place come together. This phase of the project is getting excited. We love the good energy it is bringing to the community to see the end is in sight. Now getting permits for operations is next phase. Stay tuned (oh and thank you T Dickson Trucking for test driving our new e-bike). 😂😂😂

Thank you to everyone reaching out. We are ok and Basecamp is open. The fire started just outside of Antelope on the afternoon of the 4th and thankfully local resources and ranchers got on it quick!! Not the way we wanted to spend our 4th, but at least the fire is out, and I hope folks take fire danger serious. Please please be cognizant of fire risk and use good judgement. This could have been much worse if resources didn’t get on it as quick as they did. Let’s hope no more fires the remainder of the summer.

Week 23!!! Wow, can someone please pinch me! It honestly does not feel real that we have made this much progress. Love seeing the place come together and “Bertha the Bar” has found her way back in the building to be restored! Lots of finishing work from here on out. Plus the Basecamp is booming with campers and stargazers. So special to share this little slice of heaven with folks. Book now to support our place. It’s only going to get better.

Week 22: Painting!!! Lots of painting, caulking, prep work for finishing goes into this phase of the project. Excited to see what the next couple weeks brings. After painting we start on flooring, molding, and other finishing components.

Week 21: Drywall is done. What an incredible transformation this little building has gone through. We meet with finishing contractors this week, and this is now where we start to get close. So much happening in the next 30 days. Stay tuned.

Week 18: More electrical work… (and some plumbing). Patience is key at this stage of the game because we don’t want to overlook the little things. A lot goes into the “guts” of a building and ensuring we have the correct amp/connections to all the future appliances is very important. Very blessed to be working with some amazing contractors.
