RMG Acquisition in Anniston, AL
RMG Anniston is a Disamatic Green Sand Iron Foundry. Classified as a “synthetic minor facility”, the Foundry requires the lowest level of operating permits for iron casting facility.
The Foundry is complete with a full sand system, melting, and shell core capabilities as well as Disa molding lines, shakeout & blast machines and grinders
DISA 2013 Mark 5 lines are 21.1”x26.1”/8”x8” (535x650/203x203) mold size (‘B’ chamber). Both include core setting capabilities. Cooling time averages about 37 minutes. The maximum cycle rate is over 300 molds per hour.
Paint line & Spray Booth
- Phosphate pre-treatment and cleaning wash/rinse tanks
- Two 2,700 gallon dip tanks for orange and red water-based
acrylic
- Gas-fired dry off and curing ovens
- 5,400 pieces/hour capability for smaller parts (10 ft/min
speed)
- Spray booth used for low volume or special colors such as
bronze
Assembly
- Previously had - 10 assembly stations (8 flexible and 2
dedicated)
- Safety considerations include custom magnetic lifting device,
4 hydraulic tilters, 1 lift table, push hoppers, 18 ergo-height
material stands and ergo pulse assembly tools
The Foundry is ISO 9001:2008 certified with less than 2 ppm Grinnell product returns (FY16). Manufactured products are held to high standards – UL, FM, VdS, LPCB
