After we install new glass, we'll tell you how long to wait before driving. That's because the adhesive holding your windshield in place needs time to set. Driving too soon can let the glass shift, which affects both the seal and the camera behind it. A short wait now means a safe windshield for years.

Your vehicle's safety system doesn't stop at the camera. Many cars also have radar sensors behind the front bumper or grille. Even a small fender bender or a bumper replacement can knock them out of line. If you've had front-end work done and your cruise control or braking warnings act strange, it's worth a calibration check.

When you replace a windshield, you'll hear two terms. OEM glass is made to the same specs as the glass your car came with from the factory. Aftermarket glass is made by other manufacturers. A rock just hit your windshield. Now what! Four quick steps: 1. Put a piece of clear tape over the chip to keep out dirt and water. 2. Skip the car wash for now. 3. Don't blast the defroster on high, sudden heat can spread the crack. 4. Get it looked at soon. A chip repair is generally a quick fix. Got a new windshield somewhere and now you're seeing a warning like "camera unavailable" or "lane assist off"! That usually means the camera behind the glass wasn't calibrated after the install. The good news is it's fixable. We calibrate cameras in-house, even if we didn't install the glass.
