I posted part of this repair on my personal page but here is the rest of it before the customer comes to pick it up.
I built this for a local rider who has come back multiple times for multiple upgrades, and in this occasion, I did a double harness swap on two hypercore motors, both to the Fungineers motor cable, along with a rail modification.
Since the controller box is the AV Gen 2, the fungi connector didnt exist at that point. And while its technically possible to modify the box to accept the connector to fit flush, imo, the juice is not worth the squeeze, as u have to remove a lot of material, both inside and out for just a thread or two of grip. Plus the only board I've built that has had a fried controller, has been a result of trying that mod and just missing ONE tiny little sliver of aluminum (custo was pi**ed and stopped riding for a while. Made me super sad). So I dont do that anymore.
Now after the cable exits the controller box thru a cable gland, the connector sits inside the rail, after modifying the motor cable side to fit the larger diameter of the fungi plug.
Both Hypercores were color matched to their phase wires, so they should each be a drop in replacement.
Customer will also have the option of upgrading to Superflux (although will need to run motor setup again), as well as a BTG setup, as the full length of the harness was looped into the axle.
