🚨 New item update 🚨

Hiboy trail rated balance bike. For size comparison it's about the same size as the mototec 48v. The mototec has a 27.75" seat height vs the Hiboys 27".

This item just became available on Monday and I was only able to get a few before they were sold out. I'm going to put some miles on one as soon as it stops raining everyday.

It doesn't have "dirtbike plastics" nor does it have "dirtbike pegs" as those have been the issue with how items are being classified here locally.

750w peak power hub motor (this meets all local law requirements)

20mph manufacturer rated speed ( this meets all local law requirements)

18" dual sport tires

Front & Rear suspension

48v 9ah quick removable lithium battery

Been about a year since it started but here is our mototec 60v flipsky 75200 V2 pro controller upgrade.

This kit allows you to set and lock the device to 750w and a max speed of 20mph (check local laws to see if that deems it as legal to ride). Or if you want to use it off road you have the ability to flash the tune yourself and push up to 4500w (stock battery limits) or 6500w (upgraded battery with stock motor).

This kit relocates the wiring and controller to give more space for a big battery upgrade, allows you to use all OEM plugs and hardware and the option to run a display screen for data logging and real time data monitoring. Speed, trip, odo, time, power consumption and battery level.

Had a local family buy 3 macfox class 2 e bikes last week and they sent us this photo.

Mom and Dad did a 10k run that morning and then went on a long bike ride that evening.

"The electric assist was definitely assisting"

To summarize hours of phone calls and being on hold last week.

DMV: you need a motor vehicle sellers permit to sell anything over 20mph with the updated laws for polk country.

Ok, how do I get that?

DMV: that's the Iowa dot not us, call them.

DOT: those devices are not recognized to the state as a motor vehicle so a motor vehicle sellers permit wouldn't work since they can't be titled.

Ok, so what would I need to do so my business is following the laws and avoiding fines?

DOT: not sure, I would call the DMV.

If anyone has a Komatsu D355A for sale let me know....

Late start today.

I apologize for the last minute update but we just found out my little guys doctors appointment will take 3 hours vs 1 hour.

I won't be at the shop until around noon.

We could use your feedback.

I'll try and keep this short and to the point. Several states have passed and many more are working on passing laws to make it illegal to sell any electric mobility device that is outside of local laws. We are trying to stay ahead of that and are trying to only sell items that meet all local laws.

The issue:
Very few people want them... Our sales are down about 65% over the past 2.5 months. Instead of buying a legal item that we can offer most customers that come in opt to just order a e bike or scooter online that has a much higher top speed and or power rating.

What this means:
Based on the last 2.5 months our local sales and service have dropped so much the cost of having the business open is significantly more than revenue coming in.

Options:
Risk it and offer the more powerful and highspeed options at the risk of fines or legal ramifications.

Close the store location and only run the online side of the business (custom made items we build and ship out) and offer mobile repair services removing the overhead cost of the shop location.

Take what capital we have remaining, put it all on black and let it ride.
