Well, I was told several weeks ago about this and now it is official. My “Those Guys” band friends are calling it quits. Almost forty years is an amazing run for bands and even more amazing is the group had only a few member changes. Another thing that stands out is the superior character that every member of the band possessed. Thank you guys for your friendship and the most excellent job you have done for the Main Street Program, Anderson, SC | Facebook’s Downtown Sounds BLOCK PARTY each and every year, please know you will be missed in the lineup.

After 37 years, Those Guys are pulling the plug and cutting off the lights. Wow!! What an amazing run it has been. For 37 years we have provided dance music within a 2 hour radius (and a few outside of that), for block parties, weddings, HS & college reunions, birthdays, and celebrations for every occasion throughout the year. Those Guys would like to thank Anderson and the surrounding areas for supporting us throughout the years. As the famous Bob Hope used to say,
“Thanks for the memories “.

I always want to know what National Day it is because it often helps me realize how thankful I should be of things that I tend to take for granted. Today I am very thankful for all of my beloved pets past and present.

For the best experience of night life in your town, at dusk, take one newly sober after decades mired in alcoholic blackout to the highest place your town has to offer. Let her gasp at the absolute wonder of our Creator's handiwork. You will be the man of the hour. It will be as if you are both seeing the world for the first time.

Carry the message to those still sick and suffering. It is a consummate privilege to do so.

Downtown Anderson SC through my friend Craig’s photo art. thank you for sharing your talent with us.
One of my favorite things in the world to do is showing others things they've never seen in their own town. I took a lifelong resident on a little journey of her downtown this evening and showed it to her. She was rather dumbfounded by what's here that she had never seen It was a delight to watch her nearly squealing with joy. Enlarging the lives around me is a really rewarding experience. .

Today, we celebrate an extraordinary legacy as we wish Dr. Beatrice "Bea" Thompson a happy retirement from Anderson City Council.

As the first African American elected to Anderson City Council and one of South Carolina's longest-serving municipal elected officials, Dr. Thompson has dedicated five decades to serving the City of Anderson with vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Throughout her tenure, she championed the creation of the Westside Community Center, led the establishment of Church Street Heritage Plaza, founded the Dream Team initiative to strengthen community relationships, and advocated for neighborhood revitalization, infrastructure improvements, affordable housing, and preserving Anderson's rich history.

Thank you, Dr. Thompson, for your extraordinary leadership, decades of service, and the lasting impact you've made on our community. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations of Anderson residents.
