Some boats are going to take just the right buyer....

This 1989 MasterCraft ProStar 190 Sammy Duvall Edition is one of those boats.

At first glance, it’s easy to just call it an older ski boat, but the more I looked into it, the more I understood why the ProStar 190 still has such a loyal following. MasterCraft built these boats to do one thing exceptionally well: pull skiers with a flat wake, strong acceleration, and the kind of direct-drive performance that made them a favorite for serious watersports. The Sammy Duvall edition ties it to one of the biggest names in tournament skiing, which only adds to the appeal for the buyer who appreciates ski-boat history.

It has only 534 hours, has been garage-kept, has never been in salt water, and is in very good condition for its age. It’s powered by a Ford 351 with a 4-barrel Holley carb and 1:1 transmission, and it also comes with a trailer, bimini top, ski tower, removable swim ramp, and a new battery. The only wear worth mentioning is a little on the driver’s seat.

I know this one won’t be for everyone, but if you’ve been around ski boats for a while, grew up around MasterCrafts, or have been wanting an affordable classic inboard with a great reputation, this is a really neat one to take a look at.
