It's rutting season here in Alaska.

Bull moose shed the velvet from their antlers and begin moving down from higher elevations and into the city of Anchorage, sparring and marking trees along the way.

Courtship also begins, with the bulls becoming much more vocal and aggressive as they compete for mating rights. Come mid-October, all of this activity stops, and winter survival mode takes over.
