❄️ The snowflakes are coming back!

Our EasyPark maintenance team will once again be installing the lighted snowflakes along 4th Avenue as downtown gets ready for winter.

This year, downtown businesses and property owners can help add to the glow. Check out ACDA's post below for information on the Downtown Lights Program and how to participate.

❄️ Snow is already on our minds in Anchorage!

With the first snow showing up on the mountains, we’re already thinking about how Downtown Anchorage will shine this winter.

EasyPark will once again be installing its lighted snowflakes downtown — and this year, we’re inviting downtown businesses and property owners to help add to the glow!

In collaboration with Mayor LaFrance and the Municipality of Anchorage Permit Center, businesses can install string lights over eligible sidewalks within MOA streets/right of way. Permit fees are waived.

💡 Bright idea: Consider energy-efficient LED lights and a timer to keep your display shining when it matters most while helping reduce energy use.

🚧 EASYPARK OFFICE UPDATE

Due to ongoing sidewalk construction, the EasyPark office will be temporarily closed Wednesday, August 19 through Friday, August 21.

EasyPark Customer Service will be available at the ACDA office during this time:

📍 245 W. 5th Avenue, Suite 122

EasyPark staff will be available during regular business hours to assist customers.

We appreciate your patience as the sidewalk improvements around the 5th Avenue Parking Garage are completed!

🚧 Downtown Sidewalk Improvements Underway!

Sidewalk replacement is underway along 5th Avenue in front of the 5th Avenue Parking Garage and along B Street as part of a Municipality of Anchorage downtown sidewalk improvement project.

Work will be completed in phases to help maintain access for businesses, pedestrians, and parkers.

⚠️ Friday, August 21: The B Street vehicle entrance to the 5th Avenue Garage will be closed for concrete work. Please use the 4th Avenue entrance instead.

🌦️ Construction dates are subject to change due to weather. We’ll provide updates if the schedule changes

FRIDAY FUN IN DOWNTOWN ANCHORAGE!

It’s First Friday! Downtown is full of art, live music, great food and plenty to explore.

🅿️ Friday Parking Tips:
• Street meter parking is FREE after 6 PM
• 10th Avenue Park Strip parking is FREE after 5 PM
• Parking at the Park Strip? Be sure to back in!
• EasyPark garages are another convenient option for parking downtown

Books, community, and First Friday!

Stop by the Alaska BookMobile pop-ups during First Friday from 4:00–9:00 p.m. and discover free books, literacy resources, and fun for all ages!

📍 First United Methodist Church – 725 W. 9th Avenue
📍 Akela Space - 320 W. 6th Avenue - Across the street

We're proud to support the Alaska BookMobile through EasyPark's Park It Forward grant program, helping bring literacy and community connections to downtown Anchorage.

The Bookmobile will be out and about on First Friday. We will start our evening at the UMC at 9th & G, where Rhonda Scott’s new outdoor murals are being showcased. Then we will finish out our night across from Akela Space at 6th and C.

Thanks to EasyPark Alaska and their Park It Forward initiative for helping make these pop-ups possible.

Maintenance Lead, Kris, is hard at work,pressure washing and hot steam cleaning sections of the 5th Avenue garage to prepare the surface for paint stripping and future improvements.

Regular maintenance helps keep our facilities clean and welcoming for everyone who parks downtown.

✅ Street meter parking is FREE all day on Saturdays (posted time limits still apply).
✅ Parking along 10th Avenue by the Park Strip is FREE with no time limits. Please remember to back-in park where required.
✅ EasyPark garages and surface lots are conveniently located throughout downtown if you're planning to stay longer or explore multiple events.
