One of the most powerful moments from our conversation with Bri Lynn came from Winter himself.
Too often, children with autism are treated as if they're defined by a diagnosis. Winter sees it differently.
His message is simple:
"I have autism. Autism doesn't have me."
That's a perspective many of us could learn from.
Children on the spectrum don't want pity. They don't want to be singled out. They want to be loved, accepted, encouraged, and given the opportunity to thrive just like everyone else.
For Bri, hearing Winter say those words was a total God moment. It was a reminder of how far he has come, the challenges he has overcome, and the incredible young man he continues to become.
Don't make children with autism feel different.
See their strengths. Celebrate their victories. Encourage their passions. And most importantly, show grace, understanding, and acceptance.
