Today was such a special day.
David was presented with the 2026 Chief’s Commendation Award by the Amarillo Fire Department, and I couldn’t be more proud of him.
Most people know David as a husband, dad, son, brother, or friend. But what many may not know is just how much of himself he has poured into serving others throughout the years. He has always been the kind of person who shows up when someone needs help, never expecting recognition or anything in return. That’s simply who he is.
This award isn’t just about the countless hours he’s given or the support he’s provided to the Amarillo Fire Department over the years. It’s a reflection of the kind of man he has always been—selfless, dependable, humble, and willing to put others before himself.
As we walk through one of the hardest seasons of our lives, seeing him receive this recognition means more than words can express. It reminds us that the impact of a person’s life isn’t measured by titles or possessions, but by the lives they’ve touched and the difference they’ve made.
David, you have always been our hero, but today the community recognized what we’ve known all along. You are loved, respected, and appreciated by so many people beyond our family.
Congratulations on such a well-deserved honor. We are incredibly proud of you. ❤️🚒
