Members of the AACA Des Moines Region showing their classic cars at the 38th Annual Iowa Industrial Technology Expo at SE Polk High School. A great sunny day filled with beautiful vintage automobiles, conversations with fellow enthusiasts, and plenty of admiration from visitors throughout the expo. A wonderful opportunity to share automotive history and connect with the community. Thanks to club members Dave Holzinger, Craig Wagner and Randy Cumpton for displaying their vehicles.

A few highlights from our recent trip to Grinnell. We captured moments from lunch at Hometown Heroes, explored the beautiful interior of Merchants' National Bank, and visited the Spaulding Manufacturing Company, where the historic Spaulding automobile is on display.
Our group also spent time at the Grinnell Historical Museum, diving into the rich local history. In true Midwest fashion, the day took an unexpected turn as storms rolled through, and we hunkered down together in a safe room—adding a little excitement to the experience.
All in all, it was a fantastic trip filled with great company, interesting stops, and a reminder that sometimes the most memorable moments come from weathering a storm together.😄

The club’s first outing in 2025 was a hit! The Kinze folks have a wonderful tour that not only takes you around the production facility and museum but also gives insight into the company’s mindset set and business philosophy. And their approach made it interesting to everyone. The Bluebird Diner was charming and with their breakfast all day option, our table had a split of breakfast and lunch orders. Some explored their palate with a salmon omelet…the Slamm’n Salmon! The afternoon at the Antique Car Museum of Iowa was a ton of fun. Only a few on the trip had been there before and for those that had, there were new cars to see. The 1930 Lincoln dual cowl phaeton drew attention as a car familiar to some in the club. It turned out they were right! It was Jack Harbough’s Lincoln from years ago. We also saw familiar faces as volunteers there and appreciated one of the full-time volunteers,Tom, giving us insight into several of the exhibits. The light snow on the drive home capped a truly wonderful day. A big thank you to everyone that was able to join in the day.
