As a Safe-Xtract Instructor, I show people the advantages of patented, proven recovery gear. We had the opportunity to show some uses and advantages of rigging at the recent JustgoXplore Expo. Here we used the X-Lock, a bridle (with 2 Safe-Xtract tree savers), Safe-Xtract pulley block and a 2:1 winching scenario (10k SUPERWINCH) of a lighter weight vehicle pulling a heavier vehicle out of an imagined stuck scenario. One of the pieces of kit that may look foreign to you, is the yellow safety lanyard. By using a prusik knot (basically a friction hitch), we attach this at the major failure point of the rigging (the pulley block connection) to arrest its momentum should the shackle break. Simply tied to a gear bag with about 30 of kit in it, it will force the pulley block and winch line to the ground.

Spent the morning planning our part in the Locke's Promise, Inc Rides & Wranglers 4 MS event coming up in September and followed that up with a trail scouting ride for a special part of that event with our great friend Sarah J. Locke. The trail (a legal open NH Class VI rd) was awesome but a bit too spicy for the event. We did however have a blast.

Project XJ is coming along. Bumpers installed. Tomorrow replace and fix mechanical linkage for the 4x4/4Lo shifter to transfer case. Then its on to interior, electrical and once that's done, exterior clean up and probably company logo work. Soon Jabba T. Hutt will be ready for a trail shakedown run.
