It’s hard to believe that this was over 20 years ago! We made it through and reopened for small jobs a week later. I wish I could find the picture of the jeep in the tree behind the shop. If anyone has it, please share!

Here is our next employee spotlight! Dennis Reagan. If you hadn’t figured it out by the video, he is leaving us in a couple of days! Dennis started with us in 1981. 45 years ago! When he was hired, he started as a tire tech and worked his way up to being an inspection mechanic with a specialty in carburetors and distributors! (Some of us tease and say he started when the wheels were still square rocks) He is one of the best no matter what task he was given. He will be missed by all of us. Stop in and wish him well!

Our Spotlight this week is all about Evan!
Evan is our top technician (Suzi calls him #1!) and we are so grateful to have him here with us.
Evan got involved in the mechanical field after hanging out with a friend that had an Auto Body shop. At a young age he saw then that he would not be cut out to sit behind a desk and he knew he was not cut out to go to college. The more he learned at the body shop, the more he leaned toward being a mechanic. Evan has several ASE certificates and he is constantly learning as each new vehicle comes out with different components.
If he could give you any advice it would be to make sure you check your oil, keep up on oil changes and keep your car clean.
He came to J & T Tire 12 years ago after being referred to us by another friend that worked here. Evan says he likes the schedule flexibility and that the pay is really great!
We thank you Evan for all your hard work!

We are starting spotlights! Our first spotlight is all about Jim Price. Jim has been the owner of J&T Tire since the start in Millvale before locating to the current location on Route 8 in Shaler Township. It has been over 48 years!
Jim started at a young age at a local gas station (he won’t give exact age details) and was offered a job to sell tires and he sold tires wholesale out of an old Dodge van! Years later he was given the opportunity to go into business for himself and the rest is history!
When asked if there is a special auto tip he could offer, he replied that it is so important to check tire pressure and make sure you keep up with tire rotations and alignment checks. All of this will help extend the life of the tire. If anyone would know how to maintain tires, it would be Jim!
Jim is thankful for the opportunity that he was offered and one of his favorite things about all his years in business is the fact that the customers have become friends and like family.
Jim loves to fish and has many fish tales to tell!
