We had a shop full of Chevys this week. The Silverado in the middle came in for quite a few concerns, one being the AC blowing hot. Standard AC diagnostics were performed and it was found to be undercharged.

All AC concerns have leaks checked for and repaired first, which thankfully this situation was only a leak, albeit a very tiny one. The evaporator core was leaking, and not enough to produce a stream of dye. We had to use an electronic leak detector that kept alerting to the vents in the truck when the blower was on.

At first glance with pulling the evaporator, it didn’t appear to have a leak and I was concerned about a false positive. The detector was spot on though, pulling the foam back we found the leak, as you can see by the picture in black light.

Customers back on the road with some other repairs, and a good working AC, just in time for the summer. Another ride we kept Electrified!

Latest update!!

We are now able to offer AC services on R1234YF systems! This is major as we had to outsource these to another shop for the longest time if a repair required evacuating the system. It also allows us to better serve our customers by being able to service their newer vehicles.

Our machine should be set up by Monday. I’m still working on pricing for it so I don’t have a service charge figured out yet. R1234 systems take a lot longer to charge and the refrigerant is much more expensive, so it will be more than our R134A services. Looking forward to better serving you all as we head into this next summer!

Hey folks! No video this week as things have been tight in time with Ryder joining us!

Customer towed in a 2012 Jeep Wrangler with a Tremec TR4050 swap in it, they had tried to put a clutch in the vehicle and another shop had tried as well, this Jeep would not move.

This one took a lot of research but shows the level of dedication we have for our customers. The vehicle uses all stock clutch hardware EXCEPT for the throwout bearing. Being a swap and not the original, no manual will show this that’s available. It took contacting not only the maker of the transmission swap, but also the bell housing engineering company as the kit for this was discontinued a few years ago.

QuickDraw Brands has a custom throwout bearing for this setup, in the pictures you can see the difference. The one with springs is stock, the other is the custom bearing.

Got it back together and the Jeep finally moves! I can’t thank the companies I dealt with enough for their support on this one, as it took a couple months to resolve this Jeep due to the nature.

Normally we wouldn’t take on a job like this just due to lack of parts availability. But we did, and we managed to get it fixed for them despite the hurdles.

Another ride we kept Electrified, have a good one folks!

Hey everyone! I have some big news! Last night, we welcomed our son Ryder into the world. He’s happy and healthy which is great to hear!

At this time, we will be running in an extremely limited basis for the week. I’ll have some help with some things, and will be handling all computer based things remotely at home. So estimates and invoices will still be sent and such, but I’m going to be limiting all jobs for this week.

Thank you all for understanding!

Trying something new, let me know if you guys like the technical videos or if I should stick to write ups! I definitely am not used to being on camera.

The other post is a heads up! As many of you know, my wife and I are expecting anytime within the next few weeks. We have weekly appointments, so as such these days may have hours adjusted due to, well I have to be there with her to support her and wouldn’t miss it!

If you call during any of these appointments, please leave a message and know that I will call you back as soon as I am out.

Hey everyone! Two posts for today, first being about the 2016 F150 we recently worked on.

Customer came in with a harsh 5-4, 5-6 shift, at close to 200k miles. We determined that the transmission ne ded repaired, and rebuilt it over replacing. Doing it this way, we can install updated parts and such that otherwise wouldn’t happen with a reman transmission.

Pictured are photos through the process, customer picked up their truck Friday and it shifts better than ever. Another ride we kept Electrified!

One of the transmission we offer rebuilds on is the 6R80! These transmissions are pretty stout but can still have issues. All of our 6R rebuilds include a Sonnax Zip Kit, rectifying issues with valve end plugs and other common failures

Pictured is an endplug with notable wear on it. The Zip Kit uses a dual o-ring setup for these plugs to fully seal the bore even on lightly worn units. Saves a lot of money over a full valve body during the rebuild process, so long as the valve body is in usable shape.

Tomorrow we will (hopefully) have more actual rebuild photos.

Hey everyone! Hope you all stayed safe during the recent snowstorm.

We mentioned a couple weeks ago about some changes coming up. First change to mention is that starting next week, we will be adjusting our business hours. Currently we are open 9AM to 6PM, this will be scaled back an hour to 8AM - 5PM. As time progresses and we see how this affects things, I am considering landing on a 7-4 schedule, but I need to see how this affects my customers first.

In full, it shouldn't. I am not able to have waiters, and most jobs dropped off are fairly time consuming so I dont anticipate this affecting anyone.

The next topic I'll post about will be on the mobile side of the business. Have a great rest of your day everyone!

Hey everyone!

Due to the forecasted weather, we will not be scheduling any repairs on Monday the 26th. I would much rather have my customers safe rather than driving out in the snow we are supposed to get. I’ll use the time to catch up on a couple jobs there already.

Stay safe and warm!

Own a Tesla Model 3 or Y and having heating problems? Let us get you squared away this winter! These cars are known to have their PTC Heaters go out. When this happens the heat is disabled.

We had a 3 come in this week with just that. A couple hours of work and the cars got heat again. So if yours is on the Fritz, give us a call! Whether gas or electric, We’ll Keep Your Ride Electrified!

Also be on the lookout in the next couple of weeks for some changes to how we do things, from when we reopen mobile service in the spring to our hours changing. All will be posted here. Have a great weekend everyone!
