Unfortunately, it's become time for yet another public reminder to our customers that Nebraska Law gives you your right to CHOOSE who repairs your property. It is illegal under NE Statute 44-1540 for an insurance company to require you to use a specific company or location for repair to your property. ACR Glass knows this, because we didn't just help to pass that law in 1992, we helped WRITE it, and there are now 35+ other states with similar "anti-steering" consumer protection statutes. If an insurer, or someone you are talking to on the phone that you "think" is your insurer, is leading you to believe otherwise, challenge them with questions. We'd be happy to be as helpful as we can to inform and equip you with information as best we can BEFORE you call a 1-800 #, just as we've been doing on this subject for our customer's since 1992. Another reminder to consumers WHY we are so particular about proper procedures. This windshield came out of a client's vehicle recently. There was literally near ZERO attachment over 75% of the way around of his front windshield when we removed it. It SHOULD have a 600-800psi shear strength bond, so the glass will provide up to 60% to additional roof support during a roll-over or when powerful airbags deploy in a frontal collision. These pics show the two bottom corners, one of which has NO bond, the other, the adhesive is so smeared it had no chance to bond at all. The rest of the circumference, we were nearly able to just push the glass out with our hands. Skipping proper procedures on glass preparation saved the previous installer about 15 minutes on the installation, but put lives at serious risk. The safety systems WOULD have failed miserably in a crash. Choose wisely who replaces your auto glass. Thank you to our clients to choosing us for over 4 decades.

It's come time again to remind consumers why a "cheaper", or "drive-by" installation may not be your best choice. Some installers are motivated by speed, not by proper procedures. This is a far too common result of those shortcuts in proper procedures. Remember your windshield is STRUCTURAL. It contributes as much as 60% of additional roof support during roll over, and IS the backboard for airbags when they deploy. If shortcuts compromise structural integrity of the bond, as in the photos below, then your safety will be at risk. Choose wisely. Thanks to our clients for choosing us!

It's time for a seasonal reminder that cold weather and windshield pits do NOT play nice together! We're now at the day again that we've moved our clocks back. That means the warning signs of cold are here. If you have a chip that needs repaired in your windshield, NOW is the time to have it repaired before it has a chance to spread and hasn't already become contaminated. Come in and see us for your windshield repair needs to avoid a much more costly replacement. Remember, it's always better to stop and ask us to inspect a potential chip that may need repaired, than not to stop and wish you did. Inspections are still, as always, at no charge. Drive safe!
