Rules different from the regular TCS Regional Rules:

GT-1, GT-2 and M-Chassis are required to use the handout Reedy FT (Fixed Timing) motor. Supplied and sold by Tamiya at the event. This is being done in an effort to ensure a fairer playing field.

Reedy FT motors being used:
GT-1: 13.5 Reedy FT Part #294
GT-2: 17.5 Reedy FT Part #293
M-Chassis: 21.5 Reedy FT (NOTE! The current Reedy 21.5 FT motor (Part # 297) on the market not does not fit the M-07 chassis. The ones that will be supplied at the event have been updated to fit the chassis.)

Recommended starting gear ratios with Reedy 13.5 and 17.5 FT motors:
GT-1: 4.1
GT-2: 3.6
• Gearing taller than this final drive is at your own risk. We have tested these motors on the Tamiya track layout. Gearing taller than the recommended final drive ratio will result in slower lap times past the 2-minute mark.

Additional Info:
• Spec Reedy FT motors must be purchased at the event. This process begins Thursday (First day of practice at 10:00 am)
• Motor pick-up resumes at 9:00 am Friday. Closes at 3:00pm.
• Spec Motor Price: Current REEDY web price is $56.99. Tamiya sale price will match this price.
• Motors have been checked and sealed by Reedy.
• One motor per participant.
• You may practice with any motor or your handout motor.
• GT-1, GT-2, GT Pro Spec must use the event Solaris 36J pre-mount tires.
• Shaded pit area, power, tables and chairs provided.

The end of an era...

Nestled in the foothills of sunny Aliso Viejo California sits a small race track. A facility that started as the testing grounds for a freshly established hobby company 24 years ago. The company is Tamiya America, Inc. and the track grew from testing grounds to what it’s known as today, Tamiya America Raceway.

Over the years we’ve witnessed some of the greatest names in R/C racing from around the world battle wheel to wheel. We’ve watched dreams come true for some and hopes of victory slip away for others. The victories are never sweeter and defeat never harder as seasons come and go, but the dream has always been, win at Tamiya.

It is with these thoughts and memories in mind that make this difficult; as most of you know the Tamiya Raceway property has been on the market for several years. Although some had hopes it would never happen, we are sorry to report the track will be closing its doors permanently on September 1, 2018.

We won’t say farewell to you, our fans, our supporters, our friends that feel like family. Instead we simply say we’ll see you another day. It is our hope to someday return with a track better than before and offer competitive racing to all ages and experience levels in a new home. We thank each and every one of you for your support and for providing years of exciting racing.

Before we say goodbye to one of the world’s most iconic R/C race tracks, we ask that you join us for one final farewell, one more chance to experience a TCS event, compete against the best at the Reedy Race of Champions and one more shot to be crowned TCS National Champion! It is with great sorrow, but befitting, that the Tamiya Championship Series Finals will be the final event held at Tamiya Raceway, a track that has seen the best racing for over two decades.

Our final race schedule will be as follows:

Tamiya TCS Regional Qualifier
March 25, 2018

Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions
May 24-27, 2018

Tamiya TCS Finals
August 18-19, 2018

We would like to express our personal appreciation to all those that have supported the track, the Tamiya Championship Series and all the other racing events over the past 24 years. A special thank you to Max Valles, David Bird, Kevin Niino, Mark Hinckley, Tom Kahl, Chuck Leslie and the countless other volunteers that have helped over the years. You have all been wonderful and supportive and for this all of us at Tamiya America Inc. thank you.

See you soon with our next endeavor in the not so distant future….

The ALL NEW Tamiya M-07 Concept M-Chassis will be coming out SOON!
Here’s a quick Hop-Up Option tuning tip:
The M-07 uses an oil-filled gear differential to drive the FWD gearbox. It’s the same unit as the one used in the TA-06 touring car. To get the most out of the diff we recommend two options to make the diff smoother and lighter.

Item 54602 TA-06/M-07 Aluminum Gear Differential Unit Cover: This part provides smoother diff action and reinforces the diff case. https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio-control-parts-70/hop-up-parts-72000/rc-alum-gear-diff-unit-cover-54602

Item 54532 Aluminum Cup Joint for TA-06/M-07 Gear Diff Unit: This part will save 7.7 grams and it will also allow you to use resin blades on your universal shafts. Using resin blades will ensure your drive cups last longer and will have less friction.
