Not every property can fit a double wide. Not every area is zoned for manufactured homes.

When you run into this problem, you can often solve it by going modular, and single wide.

The Thompson (normally a 2 bed 2 bath) by Franklin can solve a lot of those issues. We added footage, added an office/bedroom.

Built as an on frame modular for High Wind New Orleans code!

At only 112 dollars a square foot, it can solve a lot of problems in smaller urban or suburban lots, especially when you can't afford those 200 dollar plus a square foot!

People always ask who makes the best manufactured home.

The truth is that the best home depends entirely on your specific budget and your land setup. A budget of around $100,000 will naturally limit your double wide options and keep you in certain single wide styles.

Here is a Nerd Tip: always prioritize construction upgrades over cosmetic features. You can easily paint walls and swap out furniture later on, but you cannot change the bones of a house. Make sure you ask for 2x4 or 2x6 walls on 16 inch centers and demand the absolute highest energy efficiency you can afford.

Most importantly, never forget that the local crew who installs your house is almost as important as the factory that builds it! Make sure you know exactly who is setting your home and what their track record looks like.
