In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are sharing some stories from our customers. Please take a few minutes to read this amazing story from Sara💞

"When I was 32 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This came as a huge shock because I was so young but now it seems like you see it in all ages. This was very unexpected. I had a 1.5 year-old baby to take care of which made things tough but I had a huge support system with my family and friends. Everyone’s journey through breast cancer looks different. My life would not be the way it is today if I didn’t go through my journey. I’m not saying cancer is easy. It was very hard. God is mighty, and if you lean into him during good and bad times, HE will give you strength.

Many people asked me how I found it at that age and I always say it was literally God‘s hand. We felt a very small lump and praise God they said we caught it early. He is in control of everything in our lives. We were in shock when they said it’s cancer. Nobody ever wants to hear those words. Very quickly, I started my treatment of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, followed by surgery and then radiation.

I’m thankful that God healed me and is able to use me now as a witness for my life and how God does amazing things. I never thought I would have more kids after that and doctors weren’t sure if I would ever be able to. We even went through the process of possibly freezing eggs, and injections to preserve my ovaries, which made me very sick. We eventually stopped those because I could not handle the side effects. We said if it’s God‘s will for me to have more kids, then I will, but if not, I am happy with what he has given me. God’s plan is always bigger and better than ours and at age 39, we had our daughter Lily. I always say he knew what he was doing when he planned my kids 9 years apart because I don’t think I could’ve done it any other way!

Cancer may have changed my life, but it did not get the final word. My faith became stronger, my perspective changed, and I learned to trust God one day at a time.

Whatever you’re facing today, remember: your story isn’t over. God is still writing it.
