The company was founded by Jim Merrick in 1960, and has grown over the years with the help of his son Richard Merrick, and his grandson Russ Merrick, who now controls the business. Merrick Machine has manufactured solutions for over half a century, and continues to do so with The Auto Dolly.

No wheels/tires? NO PROBLEM! The Standard 5 hole Roll-Around Attachment allows you to roll your project around your shop (in ANY direction) by bolting directly to the hubs. Bolts on to a set of 12" Auto Dolly (either standard or Heavy Duty - HD for easier starting and rolling, as well as greater weight capacity!). Removing & installing hoods (and trunk decks) a ONE PERSON Job??? You can with the Hood Picker, as Greg Edelen of Chandler, AZ can tell you. He sent us these pics of his project - an engine replacement on a 1986 Chevrolet K30 3+3. He says "Hood Picker made the job very easy. I removed and installed the hood without any help. How do you make the most of a small workspace? The Auto Dolly! Brian Thorn sends us this photo of his 1963.5 Ford Falcon Sprint on his newly procured set. He writes regarding the project: "I have owned [this car] since 1973, but off the road since 1975 and in storage since 1982. I received it today but my garage is only 11' wide so it needs to stay up against one wall unless I'm working on it, and The Auto Dolly is the perfect tool to help me move the car. Once I had it on the dollies it was just a matter of a quick shove and it was moving. Obviously I've only just started using it, but my initial impression is very good." No it is NOT SHARK WEEK! That big beautiful fin belongs to a 1959 Cadillac Convertible, the current project of Tibor Kiss of Lino Lakes, MN. He kind enough to share a photo of his current project on The Auto Dolly set he purchased and provide the following details: "We just started to restore a 1959 Cadillac convertible and the dollies are used to move the car around as needed. They are so much help for us. " He adds that there are "only 2 of these convertibles known to exist in this factory dark green (Kensington Green)". This one also has a factory Special Order RED interior, making it truly a One-Of-A-Kind. Also shown is Tibor's goal of what it will look like when finished, which he estimates will take approximately a year.
