🚨 Check Engine Light suddenly on? Before you panic, check your gas cap! ⛽
It’s one of the most common (and most easily fixed) reasons for a Check Engine Light. Your vehicle is designed to trap fuel vapors so they don't escape into the atmosphere. If the rubber gasket seal on your gas cap gets old, dry, or cracked—which happens a lot in our dry New Mexico climate—those vapors can leak out.
Your car's computer senses the leak and turns on the Check Engine Light to let you know!
What to do:
1️⃣ Unscrew your gas cap and look closely at the rubber ring on the inside.
2️⃣ If it looks cracked, dry-rotted, or flattened, it's time for a replacement!
3️⃣ If the cap looks fine but the light is still glaring at you, it’s time to let the professionals take a look under the hood.

Well, our apprentice Allie takes 'focus' very seriously! 🎾 While Rick is busy working, Allie has a different priority: holding down this extremely important ball (and keeping a very close eye on the spare balls in the shop, just in case).
Her technique is still in development, but her commitment to ball-security is unmatched. If you come by the shop and see a very cute supervisor sitting very patiently, you’ll know who it is.

We are so excited to introduce the newest (and furriest) member of the Rick's Auto Repair team! She is our fourth Corgi, and while she might not know her way around a transmission just yet, she is an absolute expert at receiving belly rubs while you wait for your car. 🥰
