A recent client of mine is an agent with the Good Hands People and need my help with his girlfriend's total loss, who insured with Flo from, well you've seen their commercials. A Mitchell Vehicle Valuation Report, an insurance company friendly market value towards their 2003 Chevrolet S-10 ZR5 was lost in a fire earlier this year. The insurance company's offer was $6,269.93. They invoked their appraisal clause in their policy for another opinion. The owners had taken very good care of their vehicle and had a transmission rebuilt in the vehicle, but misplaced the copy of the document showing this operation was done to their vehicle. This would have added more money towards their loss if they would have provided the receipt. Needless to say, after I did my evaluation and Flo's third party appraiser did theirs, we came to the conclusion that the vehicle was worth $7,424.74. That is over $1,100.00 extra they gained if they had not refused Flo's offer. Folks, if you can save every receipt other than maintenance (oil changes) etc. you never know when you will need them in a total loss circumstance. If you ever have any questions about a total loss or diminished value towards your vehicle, please let me know. Never get bullied from any insurance company that says, "This is all we are going to give you."

Another Good Hands insurance claim settled in less than two emails! A client of mine needed some help with his own insurance company, The Good Hands people, settling his total loss claim. Fortunately his own agent guided him our way for help. The Good Hands company used an insurance company biased valuation called CCC One. NEVER trust this company's valuation reports.

CCC One and The Good Hands company offered my client $21,327.00 for his 2013 Toyota Highlander. He thought it was low and he invoked his right towards his appraisal clause to seek another opinion. The Good Hands hired a third party appraiser that sent me an offer before I could even get my photos downloaded to begin running my numbers. The third party's offer was $24,9450.00! From looking at comps in the area, which were not many, and knowing how crazy the used car market is, I wanted to include some transportation fees due to how high gas prices are, way to go Brandon, and asked for $25,500.00. After one more email, we both agreed that the 2013 Toyota Highlander was worth $25,525.00! That's almost $4,200.00 more he got if he hand not listened to his agent and trusted the bully from the Good Hands company!

Folks, don't get bullied by your insurance company or someone else's insurance company when settling an accident. Get a second opinion! We are always here to help! Remember too, your insurance is as good as your agent! The claims department doesn't care about your agent at all. They only care about taking more of your money.

Here's another vehicle that I was hired by an attorney to represent. This is a 2019 Jayco RV for diminished value. This particular one was quite complicated from the beginning. Look at the gap of the rear wheel that nearly touches the rear of the RV! The damages happened to the front end of the RV. This vehicle was hit so hard it damaged the rear of the RV as well! Also look at the insufficient repairs that were done by a "reputable" shop for the insurance company!

The owner is a retired military policy owner that is insured with the insurance company that only insures the military personal only. Refer to the commercial with professional football Rob Gronkowski to know which insurance company I'm talking about. The insurance company at fault for this accident is called "Flo". Flo said that the RV is repairable. The repair shop is telling Flo that the vehicle should be a total loss. The RV owner's insurance company (Military Only) did not want to get involve and did not practice good faith for their policy owner. Needless to say we found insufficient repairs, and existing repairs that damages are related to the initial loss. Four months later after my initial inspection, a check list of concerns to give to the repair shop and insurance company, the RV was considered a total loss! Flo, finally came to her senses. The only good news about this ordeal was that the RV owner's insurance company finally stepped in due to his attorney, and had a replacement policy that he was paying for and is going to get the RV replaced completely! There's also more to this story but is too long to put on a post.

The moral to this story is to NEVER let bullies tell you how your vehicle should be repaired, who should do your repairs, and how it should be repaired! You have your choice to have your vehicle repaired by whoever you choose. Get your vehicle inspected after repairs, prior repairs and know your policy! These bullies (insurance companies) will do everything they can to pocket more money than they already have!

This 2014 Toyota Highlander was in an accident and was deemed a total loss by her insurance company the “Good Hands” people. She needed some advice and I gave her the best free advice to start with to see if she could get more than the Good Hands offered.

After not having the time to negotiate with her insurance she invoked her appraisal clause and hired me as a third party appraiser. The Good Hands people use a company called CCC One, who is an insurance based/biased company for their offer of $16,275.00. I researched respectfully and my figures came to $18,906.00. The Good Hands hired their independent appraiser from Oregon. Only one email was released from the appraiser in Oregon with an offer of $18,850.00. We were both only a mere $56.00 difference! That’s $2,575.00 more than the CCC report and the Good Hands we’re willing to give their own insured policy owner!

The moral of this story? Never trust a bully who is trying to take more money from you than they already have! ALWAYS get a second opinion!

Well folks, I was just informed about this today by an attorney that I have worked with in the past and I thought I’d share this information with you.

If your vehicle or someone you know, vehicle has been involved in a total loss or you purchased a vehicle with a salvage title, PLEASE get it inspected to see if any drugs were used in that vehicle! Apparently many, if not all insurance companies were not totaling out vehicles that needles or drug paraphernalia were found in a vehicle and were allowed to be sold at auctions with salvage titles or plain auction, to the public without anyone knowing and looking away. If this has happened to your knowledge, message me or call and I will point you in right direction to the attorney who told me about this today. Don’t buy a used vehicle without it being inspected first! I’ll look at for free for you!

This is a customer that I helped out on a total loss appraisal in February of this year, 2020. My customer came to me because his insurance company, AAA, was only offering him a little over $4600.00 for his 2006 Honda Odyssey that was deemed a total loss by his insurance company and Allstate, who was at fault for the accident. We informed our customer to go through his insurance because he might be better off in dealing with his own insurance since they had several policies from both home and auto. Well, come to find out their insurance company, AAA, really did not practice "good faith" like most, if not all insurance company's are supposed to practice when a property damage claim is filed with an insurance company. AAA hired their own third party appraiser from Texas, and we both had very much different opinions as to what the fair market value of a total loss vehicle is deemed in New Mexico should be. Most, if not all insurance deems an insured's vehicle as an actual cash value (ACV) instead of an (FMV) fair market value. Folks, do not ever listen to the insurance company that is trying to keep as much money in their pockets to cheat you out of what is rightfully yours. We had to end going through an Umpire to settle our differences. Needless to say, both parties had to pay extra money for the Umpire, as well as hiring a disinterested appraiser. But it all came out in the favor of my client who is now awarded almost $7000.00 for his total loss! It was a huge win for our client and we wanted to pass along this information to the public. Please do not settle your case until you ask a professional for advice as to what to do next! The schoolyard bully always squeals when you want to take back their money!

I was hired to do a total loss appraisal for this 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport for a client that had her car stolen and recovered. Her insurance company, Geico, only offered her $7000.00 using a CCC report most insurance company's use to low ball their insured's or third party claims. We ended up getting her $10,000.00, a $3,000.00 increase for her loss. Folks, be careful to not get bullied into settling claims without getting more information from us at ADC!
