We have been performing our high quality and guaranteed repairs in the Albany and the surrounding area since 1979 Cordray's Continental is a 45 year old General Repair, Transmission and Drivetrain repair business. We also specialize in Light Duty Diesel Repair of Powestroke, Cummins, and Duramax powered trucks. We work on all Domestic and most foreign vehicles, providing factory recommended maintenance to major repair, whatever your vehicle needs, we can do it for you !

This is Mike.

He’s one of our owners and our master transmission builder. You might not know him because he’s usually in the back of our shop somewhere, deep inside a transmission rebuild.

But today marks his 39th anniversary with Cordrays, and we think that’s something pretty special to celebrate—so let us toot his horn, because he certainly won’t.

Mike holds an extreme amount of knowledge when it comes to all things transmissions. You know the cut-open transmission display we have in our service office? That originally came to Mike’s high school as a display for a work fair. Years later, after Mike joined the transmission side of auto repair, that same transmission was offered to him to display and teach his own customers. Now it sits in our front office, where we still use it every day to help educate.

And Mike maybe won’t admit this part, but he has the biggest heart and cares deeply about his family, his employees, and this business. There is no one who works harder, longer, or more consistently than Mike.

We would be absolutely lost without him, and we are so blessed to have him.

Today marks an important milestone for Cordray’s Continental Auto Repair & Transmission.

After more than a year and a half of paperwork, planning, and patience, I am honored to officially become an owner of the shop.

This is much more than a business transaction to me. I’ve spent the last ten years working here, learning from the people who built this company and earning the trust of the customers who have supported us along the way.

I want to sincerely thank Tom Nielsen for the opportunity, the mentorship, and the years he dedicated to building this business into what it is today. The reputation, integrity, and commitment to quality that he helped established are the foundation we stand on every day.

As we move forward, my goal is simple: serve our customers with honesty and excellence, and be the kind of business our community can depend on for years to come.

I also look forward to continuing to work alongside Michael Thorpe as we guide the next chapter of Cordray’s together. His experience, dedication, and partnership will be invaluable as we move ahead.

To our customers, friends, and community—thank you for your trust and support. We wouldn’t be here without you, and we’re excited for what the future holds.

Here’s to the next chapter.

Working around vehicles as long as we have and you’ll some some interesting things. We’ve all heard the stories. Got a manual transmission or axle making some noise, just throw some sawdust in it, it’ll quiet right up. Well, today we had a truck in, new to the customer, and a used transmission installed at some point during the vehicles life. Well, apparently the previous owner believed that saying to be true. Literal saw dust in the transmission. Needless to say the vehicle no longer moved.
