Quick question for the JDM owners — when's the last time the paint actually got real attention?

1998 Toyota Chaser, exterior only — full hand wash, clay bar decontamination, and a 6-month sealant. McAllen.

White doesn't hide dirt. It hides it until you stop caring. This one had years of contamination baked into the clear. Clay bar pulled it off. Sealant locked the clean back in.

You see it all the time with FR-S owners. Money goes into wheels, exhaust, aero. The paint sits neglected while everything bolted to it gets the attention. Mods look great at the meet. Swirled paint under the sun doesn't.

2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in McAllen. Full detail — full hand wash, clay bar decontamination, panel prep, full interior detail, leather conditioning, trim restoration.

Bonded contaminants you couldn't see until your hand ran across the panel. Swirls hiding under a layer of grime that built up while 'next month' turned into six months of next months. That's how a Z06 ends up looking tired instead of legendary.

Paint feels glass-smooth again. Interior reset. Trim back to black. Car finally matches what it is.

You spent Genesis money. The finish on these is too clean to let gas station washes chew through it. Once etching sets in, it stops being a wash problem and becomes a correction problem.

Pulled the swirls, brought the gloss back, and sealed it so the next few months don't undo the work.
