Carbon cleaning is a needed maintenance item on your direct injected vehicle. Most modern vehicles have direct injection, a very good system but not without downfalls. Direct injection systems do not clean the intake valves of the engine which causes major oil buildup as seen below. In extreme cases it causes engine misfire and very poor performance.
