Who’s there?
Willie
Willie who?
Willie come to Jones Salvage tomorrow and visit us for the BKR shopping trip?
Willie has closed the door on the first day of the BKR Shopping Trip and would like to thank everyone who came and visited us today. Whether you bought something or just stopped by to say hi we really enjoyed seeing you. We have lots of great merchandise left and might even dig a few new items out over the next two days.
Willie says “hold the door” the “key” to our success “hinges” on each and all “swinging” in to see us on Saturday or Sunday. Hey, don’t “knock” it till you try it.
Once again thanks to everyone who made the first day of the Jones Salvage shopping trip a great success. Willie will have the door open and the welcome mat out for everyone tomorrow and Sunday.

Round 2 of items for the BKR Shopping Trip. Willie and Tom have been busy digging out items from the Jones Salvage Vault. We have a hockey game from 1959, some lighted signs, an old door (you don’t find them built this sturdy anymore) and some vintage Christmas lights that still work. If you enjoy a good treasure hunt Jones Salvage is the place to be this weekend.

We will be posting items throughout the week so give our page a like to follow what Willie is selling this weekend. Willie will also be giving tours of the salvage yard upon request. (He doesn’t know this yet) Also don’t be afraid to ask for something you may not see because we may have it in the salvage yard. Here is the first wave of items that have been placed onto the Jones Salvage sale floor.

Willie’s ride of the day!!
It was over 80 degrees today and Willie says its time to go topless everyone! And when it warms up that means it’s time for Bargain Buyways, the continuous yard sale in northern Nebraska. At Jones Salvage we have gathered up a huge assortment of new items for this years sale only to be notified that Bargain Buyways has been cancelled. No reason was given for the cancellation so we took it upon ourselves to hire an independent counsel to investigate the matter.
After minutes of exhaustive investigation the report has been submitted. It is in excess of 400 syllables and cost us well over 25 pennies, but the expense was well worth it. The following possible causes for the cancellation were thoroughly investigated.
1. Willie left the key on and ran the battery down just like he does on the pay-loader when he doesn’t want to work. 2. In Bernie Sanders socialistic world we are not allowed to sell things, everything is free! 3. Mike Riley’s coaching. 4. No one is allowed to drive to the sales due to the Green New Deal. 5. Farting cows. 6. Jones Salvage’s sale is so big and so awesome everyone else was tired of trying to keep up with the Jones’. 7. Russian interference. 8. Farting Willie. 9. Ernie Chambers is filibustering it. 10. Its Always Willies Fault.
But here in the northern Sandhills we are a hearty breed and we are going on with the sale anyway. It’s being called the KBR Shopping Trip Adventure and is being held April 26, 27 and 28. We aren’t afraid of farting cows, (yes that was the conclusion of the report, the Bargain Buyways was cancelled due to farting cows) farting Willie is another story for another day. We would enjoy seeing you at our sale and at Jones Salvage we believe we truly have something for everyone. Please check back for more details and pictures as we get set up for the sale

Willie’s ride if the day!!
Carol commented the other day that the freezer was getting a little low on beef at Jones Salvage. Willie took the bull by the horns, so to speak, when a local feedlot owner came to Jones Salvage to pick up some of the used guardrail we just got in stock. Willie made a trade for the “fat” steer pictured above. ( yes that steer)
Seems that the gene for making good trades that the Jones’ are known for must have skipped Willie. Mathew and Jeremy are both good at bartering and Jones Salvage founder, Dave, enjoyed making a good trade. Toms’ Grandpa Merle once took 10 ducks to town which he traded for a 10 dollar bill and a pair of roller skates. He then traded the roller skates for a live black bear in a cage. (Maybe one of Willies ancestors). He then took the bear to Harrs butcher shop and traded half the meat for the processing. Safe to say the Merle Jones family ate a lot better after all that trading than we at Jones Salvage will, trying to choke down that bag of leather and bones Willie traded for. The plastic steer he wanted to bring home from Denver probably would have tasted better.
If you are in the market for some good used guardrail please come to Jones Salvage and check it out. Just be prepared to write a check for it, Willie is no longer allowed to make trades.

Willie’s Ride of the Day!!
Wondering where Willie has been? Like any good American Black Bear he has been hibernating. But now here he is standing outside his den soaking up the sunshine after the long, hard, cold winter.
Now that Spring has sprung Willie is up, wandering around, looking for food, ( luckily at Jones Salvage we have Carols home cooking) and acting testy. (He probably will be testy when he reads we compared his last month or so of work at Jones Salvage to hibernation)
One difference between Willie and a bear is Willie loves fast food and bears hate it because it’s hard to catch.
If you need to catch a deal on tractor parts or iron, Jones Salvage is the place to call.

Willie’s ride of the day!!
(The Carol says it’s time to promote tractor front end parts because the ranchers are probably tearing #*?% up version)
One of the main reasons we have kept Willie around Jones Salvage all these years is to have someone to blame stuff on. Tom had an Agronomy Professor back at UNL who claimed the only reason some farmers kept a hired man was to blame mishaps on ( to this day he swears he didn’t run over that pile of irrigation pipe under the snow, but does remember the farmer backing the feed truck around that way one day)
If you are carrying that bale of hay (that Willie made too big last summer) and your front tire drops in that rut (that Willie made in the mud and didn’t smooth out) and your spindle snaps, the good news is Jones Salvage can fix you up. We stock a good selection of new front end parts for tractors of various colors and models. We also have a good choice of used parts if you prefer that route. If you throw the dice and they come up snake eyes and we don’t have the part you need we can generally get it for you in two business days. Or you can go to Jonessalvage.com and click on the A&I logo and order directly from them through Jones Salvage.
If you are broke down it really doesn’t matter who’s fault it is, (it’s Willie’s) Jones Salvage is the place to go to get running again.
Call Willie 402-382-8784 or Tom 402-382-8004
Through the end of March if you buy tractor front end parts at Jones Salvage and blame it on Willie we will give you a 10% discount.

Willie’s ride of the day!!
Willie’s bachelor party fishing trip went off without a hitch ( the hitching part comes in June). Willie and his buddies made it to the South Dakota lake and caught a huge stringer of two fish. Actually that’s quite an accomplishment, the ice was three feet thick so the guys spent most of the day breaking a big enough hole in the ice just to get their boat in the water.
The stripper plan didn’t work out very well either. It was so cold the electric wire just refused to part with its insulation. By the way we have established in this post how good Willie is at misplacing things. Now he has gone and lost our global warming, if anyone sees it roaming around anywhere please return it we miss it dearly. Lucky for us Willie is so dedicated to his job and Jones Salvage nothing could stop him from returning to work Monday morning. He even traded his Buick for this snowplow to fight the blizzard and get home. He is at Jones Salvage and waiting for your business.

Willie’s ride of the day!!
Willie’s brother Nathan has a bachelor party ice fishing expedition planned to the far frigid north for Willie and his buddies. At Jones Salvage we are tired of the cold this winter and would head south and risk sunburn rather than continued frost bite.
Ice fishing can be a hit or miss proposition so at Jones Salvage we are going to “invest” in a stripper to keep this trip from getting boring. We have heard every bachelor party hot or cold needs a stripper so if anyone knows of a good available stripper let us know. A few particulars that we are looking for are listed below.
1. Nice to look at. ( Willie will be spending a lot of time in front of this stripper)
2. Low maintenance (Willie doesn’t want to have to keep shelling out dollar bills)
3. Fast and easy. ( Willie isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box)
4. A rather petite model. (We’ve seen some bulky and heavy strippers in our day and are concerned about the ice holding up)
All in all at Jones Salvage we are hoping the fishermen have a safe and enjoyable trip and are productive enough to use our new wire stripper to remove the insulation from this tote of electric wire in their down time.

Willie’s not strong enough ride of the day!
At Jones Salvage we always said about Willie’s ride of the day “it’s all fun and games till someone gets hurt”. Well Willie finally blew up about getting made fun of. Who knew his boiler burned that hot and when it finally broke loose the stuff really hit the fan. (Or at least the filter in front of the fan)
The real story here involves a heavy old boiler, a winch, and a broken winch mount and some cinnamon rolls. But really it’s too boring of a story to waste space in this “important “ post on. The main thing is nobody got hurt. (Seriously it’s just a scuff, it’ll probably buff out anyway). If you want to hurt Tom don’t hit him in the head, it won’t hurt his looks,( he wasn’t blessed with a pretty face like Willie) and he’s proven again and again that there’s nothing up there to damage.
Anyway if you have a project that Jones Salvage can help you with you don’t have to knock us up along side of the head to get our attention. Just call Tom at 402-382-8004 or Willie at 402-382-8784

No Willie, that is not a yak. That’s Colorado beef. He wore his legs down climbing up and down the mountains, makes the beef tough and taste like plastic. Try again. Darn “City Boys”. Give us a like if you want to continue to follow Willie’s future adventures.

Willie’s ride of the day!!
Willie made it out to Denver sliding on slick roads all the way.
He decided the best way to fit in at the Stock Show would be to buy a cowboy hat to wear, but wanted one in a color that would accentuate his eyes. But alas the were all sold out of bs green Stetsons.
His next attempt at fitting in was to find a horse to ride around. He found one to use but he realized it’s a long way up to the saddle for a man of his stature and they put that darn saddle horn in the most uncomfortable position. (The saddle might have fit if Willie hadn’t gone to the kids pony rides)
Finally he settled for a horse on a stick and a horse on a leash. The horse on the stick is only the front part of the horse but Willie is confident that he can fill in admirably for the back part.
Next Willie is off to the Yak Show. At Jones Salvage we have been encouraging Willie go get some yaks to keep in the pen by his house. We told him yak milk is very nutritious and in great demand and a good marketing opportunity for him. ( No idea if this is true but watching Willie try to milk a yak would be very entertaining and provide a lot of material for Willie’s ride of the day)
We will keep you up to date on Willie’s adventures at the Stock Show and hopefully introduce you to Willies new yaks upon his return. Meanwhile Jones Salvage has been left in the somewhat capable hands of Tom. 402-382-8004

Willie’s ride of the day!!
Here at Jones Salvage our New Years Resolution for 2019 is to be a kinder and gentler company and to not make fun of Willie much. Well we made it 10 days so that is a new record. Now that the next 355 is cleared of encumbrances, it is on again.
Willie decided that he needed to prepare for his upcoming trip to Denver with his soon to be in-laws, so now he is doing all his work at the front of the raised dump trailer to get used to the thin air. His original plan was to get ready for the other kind of “Rocky Mountain High” by eating a lot of brownies, but Heather wouldn’t bake them for him.
Actually he is chipping frozen building materials from the trailer. Seems when you load wet wood products from a demolition project it’s best to not leave them on the trailer overnight in January. (Who knew). Willie’s new weekly goal: dump the trailer when you get back rather than procrastinate.
If you could use some help cleaning up your scrap. Call Willie 402-382-8784 or Tom 402-382-8004
If Willie ever gets his trailer chipped clean he will be at your service

Willie’s Ride of the Day! (Christmas Edition)
We asked Willie to get the chainsaw tuned up so we could go cut down the Jones Salvage Christmas tree. He failed. The only alternative was to make Willie the tree.
We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Hopefully you can all enjoy some time with friends and family this holiday season.
We will be open for business Wednesday once we undecorate the tree.
Merry Christmas,
From Tom, Mathew, Jeremy, Willie

Willie’s ride of the day!!
Willie has taken advantage of the decent weather this week to get rid of some of the scrap iron that piled up around Jones Salvage this summer. He uses this old pay loader to load the truck with. It is a lot like Willie as it is kind of slow and cranky, but works hard and always gets the job done, it also smokes and leaks a lot of oil. (Willie doesn’t actually smoke, he chews and leaks a lot of tobacco juice)
Using this equipment to load iron is not very efficient so Willie adopted a New Years resolution a little early that he is going to make himself more efficient to try to counteract this. He is now making lists and setting weekly goals. His first weekly goal was to only be late for work 5 times this week. (He has to start somewhere) Well here it is Friday and Willie is right on schedule. He is so proud of himself that he decided to take Saturday off to celebrate. (Or maybe he doesn’t want to risk being tardy for the 6th time)
