🔧 TECH TUESDAY | Disc Brake Conversion Tip! 🛠️

Converting your Willys Jeep from drum brakes to disc brakes? There’s an important step you don’t want to overlook!

In this week’s Tech Tuesday, we show you how to remove the residual pressure valve from your master cylinder when performing a disc brake conversion.

Disc brakes require less residual pressure than drum brakes. Leaving the original drum brake residual valve in place can cause your calipers to drag, leading to excessive heat and premature brake wear.

✅ Four-wheel disc brakes: In many applications, no additional residual pressure valves are necessary. However, some setups, particularly those with a master cylinder mounted below the calipers, may require a low-pressure residual valve.

✅ Front disc / rear drum: We recommend installing an appropriately rated inline residual pressure valve in the rear drum brake circuit only, when required by the system configuration.
