Direct light shows every wash mark that has built up in the clear coat over the years. This X3M had plenty of them. We corrected them out and coated the paint so it stops collecting more. Now washing it maintains the finish instead of slowly taking it apart.

This 1991 Porsche 911 came in for a full detail, and after 35 years the clear coat had oxidized enough that the color looked flat no matter how clean it was. We washed it down, clayed it to pull off everything bonded to the surface, then polished through the oxidized layer to get back to paint that actually reflects. Sealed it after to keep things looking nice for years to come.

Black paint takes constant work, but when it is kept up there is nothing better looking. This RS6 got a full paint correction first to pull out the defects sitting in the surface. From there we polished it to bring back the gloss, the depth, and the metallic in the paint. Last step was the ceramic coating. The finish came out exactly how we wantedand the customer was extremely happy with it. At the end of the day that is what it is all about.

Most people book a detail after the miles, to clean up the damage. This Viper owner did it in the right order. Bugs, road tar, and brake dust all bond harder to unprotected paint, and the wash that removes them afterward is where most swirls actually come from. Prepped and sealed first, everything that hits the paint this weekend releases easier and cleans off safer.

This X3M came in for paint correction and ceramic coating. The paint was corrected first, then the coating went on panel by panel. Coating is the last step for a reason. It locks in whatever condition the paint is already in, so the correction has to be finished before any of it goes down. Rush that order and the swirls get sealed in underneath. Done in the right sequence, the finish stays easier to wash and holds up a lot longer.

This RS6 came in for a full paint correction, so the surface was washed and decontaminated first, then corrected to pull out the swirls and defects sitting in the clear. Once the paint was where we wanted it, the ceramic coating went on. We also coated the wheel faces, barrels, and calipers, which is the part most shops skip. Wheels take the worst of it, brake dust, heat, and road grime constantly baking onto the surface. Coating them means that contamination sits on top instead of bonding in, and the whole car stays easier to clean going forward.

This Audi Q3 came in with tree sap across the front, hood, roof, and rear. It had been sitting long enough that we were not sure how much of the paint was going to come back. It started with a foam bath to get the dirt and grime off so nothing gets dragged across the surface. From there the sap came off with a combination of adhesive remover and a plastic razor blade, worked slowly so the clear coat stays intact. Then the whole car was clayed to pull out the contamination embedded in the paint, and polished to remove the staining the sap left behind. The polish is also what brings the gloss and depth back into the finish. Sealed up after that and back on the road.

This Audi Q3 came in with tree sap that had been sitting on the paint for a while. Before any work starts, we go over the car with the customer so the expectations are clear. Sap that is still soft comes off without much effort. Sap that has dried and hardened bonds into the clear coat, and even after it is removed you can be left with a faint outline of where the drops were. Plastic panels hold onto it more than the metal does. From there it gets cleaned, clayed, and polished to pull back as much of the marking as possible.
