Riley passed away a couple of months back and his family is selling his aircraft. It's based at Twin Lakes, Riley's workmanship was second to none.... very nice aircraft!

High cylinder head temps can be this simple. Baffle overlap is oriented wrong which opens up the aft section. Cooling airflow takes the path of least resistance, in this case around the engine instead of thru the cooling fins on the cylinders. The forward sections should overlap the aft sections.

Cessna Birddog shackle adapter mods. Original mounts only had one #10 bolt securing the adapter to the wing, newer modified mount incorporated 2 on each end.

Cheap isn’t good and good isn’t cheap. If you’re going to do it…do it right! The large picture shows the upper cowl with a rushed repair job. If done properly the repairs look like art.( Cessna Birddog upper cowl repair

Here’s the current projected path of Hurricane Ian. Hopefully everyone has already made preparations for their aircraft thru the storm. If not get control locks on and tie it down good, even if it’s in an open t hangar ! Wind speeds over 50 are expected with the storm as it passes. The current TAF/ MOS is pictured as well. Prepare now if you haven’t already.!!! Be sure to thank the avionics shop folks as they were busy securing aircraft yesterday for the storm.

This is why inspecting aircraft,engines and its components is important. Eventually this nasty weld will fail...possibly causing an engine fire.

Taking a couple of days to get my Cub project done while it's still warm out....doing an induction tube service letter and installing a Reiff engine preheater .
