Long post.
This truck is a prime example of what I try to explain to customers on the regular.
Customer had a shop install a motor in this truck. Upon pickup, instantly had a severe oil leak.
Shop told customer that he was 6–7 weeks out on warranty work. (Customer stated this)
He uses truck for work, so he calls us in a frantic to try to get a quicker solution.
This is what we found. Camshaft seal completely missing. Was not installed before rear cover was put on.
Customer stated he was blocked and can no longer get in contact with shop.
The point of this post is simple. There are ample, well known shops in the area that will take care of you.
This is not a “bring your truck here post”, but simply a post to bring to customer’s attention to please do your research on who you are taking it too.
We really hate that this happened to the customer, however it’s an unfortunate example of individuals entering this industry to make a buck, not realizing the true cost to run a business, undercutting jobs, to only find out they financially cannot afford to dive back into issues they caused.
We here at Allatoona Diesel are humans. We make mistakes just like anyone else. We have made them in the past just like every other shop has, and we will continue to make them in the future. We all are human.
However…..
What makes a reputable business is how you RESPOND to these issues. To own up to them. And to make right by the customer and give them the solution they came to you for in the first place.
We don’t sell parts and labor, we sell you a solution to your problem, backed by a warranty, that we are going to tackle head first when the issue arises.
It’s our problem, not yours. Period
With the economy slowing down, your dollar needs to go farther ONCE.
P.S
Do yourself a favor and look a business up on the Secretary of State to see if they are a legitimate business. Dive a little deeper and see if they even have insurance.
We promise you, your Facebook marketplace mechanic most likely will not be able to afford your 25K engine install if he accidentally blows it up.
