If YOU'RE getting ready for some Summer driving and vacation time, don't let car issues slow you down! We encourage you to attend to any maintenance services you might have been avoiding or putting off. Be proactive and make sure your car is ready! Things you'll want to check up on:

1. Alignment and Tires: making sure your tires are properly inflated to their correct pressures is only part of the picture: make sure your tires are not experiencing significant or uneven wear. Wheel alignment and tire balancing are also advisable, especially if you're planning on doing some driving.

2. Oil and Critical Fluids: making sure you're up-to-date on you oil changes will ensure that your engine lubrication is optimal and up to the task of minimizing wear and tear on your engine. Also make sure that your brake fluid, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid are topped off.

3. Air Conditioning: making sure that your A/C/ system is properly functioning so that your car rides are comfortable is a MUST for Summer driving, particularly as they say it's going to get hot soon!

It's sad to say, but we sometimes see vehicles come into our shop that haven't been properly maintained. We all feel really badly when that happens because the owners often desperately want to get their cars fixed, but it may already be too late. If YOU own a European import or a domestic luxury car or truck, the maintenance is what's going to preserve the life of your ride. Let's mention a few basic guidelines that will help you take care of yours:

1. FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDED SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES PRESCRIBED FOR YOUR CAR. Getting expert assessments and maintenance services according to schedule is like going to the doctor: they can see things that you might not, and this, alone, will help to avoid many problems in the long run.

2. Always opt for high-quality synthetic motor oils. Yes, they cost a little more, but that's an investment: your engine is precision-engineered and needs high-quality lubrication that can meet its needs.

3. Put the top-tier gasoline in your car. European cars, in particular, operate at higher pressures and temperatures than domestic makes, and this requires higher octane fuels, preferably with synthetics designed to keep your engine clean.

4. Make sure that you're consistently using high-quality coolant, brake fluids, transmission fluids, and power steering fluids appropriate to your car. Your engine thanks you in advance!

5. Remember that not driving your car for extended periods of time means your battery might run down more quickly.

6. Be mindful about maintaining tire pressures....and if alignment feels "off", get it checked. Your tires will love you for it!
