Implication of the new TAX regime for future vehicle owners:

Dear friends, in case you have been planning to buy a vehicle and you are yet to actualize your plans, the days ahead are quite tough.
The government of Uganda has increased taxes on used vehicles, the component called "Environmental Levy" by 30%, originally it was 20%, but come July 1st it will be 50%. This will target all vehicles 10+years, actually that is almost 90% of the vehicles we consume in Uganda. In real money value terms, all vehicles will experience a price hike of between 2m-5m, depending on what vehicle you are purchasing.
