35 years ago today, we mourned the passing of our founder, father and mentor, the late Yafesi Walusimbi Mpanga. We lost a man of great vision, however, like any legendary visionary, his legacy lives on. Among other dexterities, his business perspicuity led His worship Walusimbi Mpanga, to be one of Kampala's long serving mayors – where he served under the former exiled president and great marshal Idi Amin Dada; from 1971 – 1982. However, his most notable vestige was his tremendous philanthropy work in Uganda.

The legacy of the late Yafesi Walusimbi Mapanga has stood the taste of time, mostly due to the skilled close-knit family of employees. Walusimbi’s Garage’s success and longevity is credited to the staff who have worked tirelessly, diligently, and steadfastly through the decades. As a family business, Walusimbi's Garage’s scope of family expands to its entire team of staff; which is highlighted in the importance we put on employee relations and interactions.

In addition, WGL is an equal opportunity employer who recognizing that women too bring invaluable skills and perspective to any venture, thereby availing opportunities for all to thrive in leadership.
