Another batch of 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗲 models has been fully assembled and is now waiting for their display bases.
The photos show one of the tiniest parts, added at the very end of the assembly process — the hood handle.

Моделі 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗲 з чергової партії повністю зібрані й тепер чекають на підставки.
На світлинах — одна з найдрібніших деталей, яку було встановлено наприкінці збирання, — ручка кришки капота.

Щаслива сімка

Once these seven finally stood on their wheels, it was at last possible to attach the roof. Now this little car is ready to hit the road even in the rain 😊

The 1/43 scale model of the 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 now needs just a few tiny details before it’s complete.

Після того, як ці семеро стали на колеса, нарешті з’явилася можливість приєднати дах. Тепер на автівці можна вирушати навіть у дощ 😊

До 1/43 моделі 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 залишилося приєднати лише кілька найдрібніших деталей.

Yes, a car’s wheels should sing—that is, they should turn. The wheels of the 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗲 do exactly that, despite the delicate suspension and slender axles. Of course, this makes both designing and assembling the model more challenging, but it also means you can have a little fun rolling it across your desk 😊

Та попереду дорога і весела, і проста.

Так, колеса автівки повинні співати, тобто обертатися. Колеса моделі 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗲 в масштабі 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 саме так і роблять, незважаючи на тендітну підвіску та тонкі осі. Звичайно, це ускладнює проєктування та збирання моделі, але натомість нею можна побавитися, катаючи по столу 😊

The 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 has finally grown its wings 😊

I prefer to call them wings rather than fenders, because these models will soon be flying off to their new owners. The footsteps, proudly bearing the Cadillac name, help the driver and passenger climb aboard—and once they do, the world looks just a little different from up there 😊

Автівка 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 розправила крила.

"Живе на землі. Сама не літає.
А крила має. А крила має!"

Ці крила знадобляться моделям, адже скоро вони розлетяться по новим домівкам. А піднятися над землею водію та пасажирам допомагають підніжки з написом, що нагадує, який бренд дозволяє дивитися навкруги з висоти престижної автівки 😊

Of course, the front wheels of the 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 model are fixed in a straight-ahead position, but the steering knuckles on the front axle are faithfully reproduced, complete with their steering arms carefully soldered in place. The assembly of this unit is completed by installing the tie rod and drag link.

Звичайно, передні колеса моделі 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 в масштабі 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 не повертаються, але поворотні цапфи передньої осі відтворені, а важелі їх приводу акуратно впаяні. Тож завершує компонування цього вузла приєднання поперечини та поворотної тяги.

After the metal frame has been bonded to the 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 scale 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮, it is time for the small details that truly bring the model to life and make it look even more like the original. One by one, I install the engine cooling pipe, exhaust system, flywheel, friction-drive levers, and brake control cables.

Після вклеювання металевої рами 𝟭/𝟰𝟯 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 настає черга дрібних деталей, що значно оживляють модель та підкреслюють її схожість з оригіналом. Я послідовно монтую трубу водяного охолодження двигуна, глушник, маховик, важелі фрікційної трансмісії, троси приводу гальм.

Continuing to share some of the assembly details of the 1/43 scale 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 model.

Even with careful assembly, the delicate axles and springs of such a small model can become slightly distorted. However, even the slightest misalignment may cause one of the wheels to sit off the ground. That is why the next step after bonding the frame and the front axle is checking for any twist or misalignment.

As a reminder, all suspension components of the model are made of metal. This allows the front axle and rear leaf springs to be bent very slightly, just enough to bring all four wheels into proper alignment.

For this procedure, I use an unpainted “test-fit” set of wheels and mounting pins. This prevents damage to the finish that could result from repeatedly installing and removing the final painted wheels.

Продовжую ділитися нюансами збирання моделі 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 в масштабі 1/43.

Навіть за акуратного збирання тонкі осі та ресори мініатюрної модели можуть викривлятися. Але навіть мінімальне викривлення призводить до підвішування одного з колес. Тому наступною операцією після вклеювання рами та передньої осі є контроль перекосу.

Нагадаю, що всі елементи підвіски моделі металеві, тож передня вісь та задні ресори дозволяють незначне вигинання, якого достатньо для вирівнювання колес.

Для контролю використовується "примірочний" нефарбований комплект колес та шпильок, щоб не псувати покриття кількаразовим встановленням та зняттям колес.

The body and chassis are finally united forever 😊

There are still plenty of small details left to attach to the lower part of the model, but this is already the final stage of assembly.

A quick reminder: this is another batch of seven pieces from the limited-edition 1:43 scale 𝟭𝟵𝟬𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗮 model produced by 𝗩𝗗𝗠 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀. Work on these models was paused because of russia’s full-scale inv@si0n of Ukraine, and has now finally resumed.

Корпус і рама тепер назавжди разом 😊
Попереду ще чимало дрібних деталей, які потрібно встановити на нижню частину моделі, але це вже фінальна стадія збирання.

Нагадаю, що йдеться про чергову партію із семи екземплярів лімітованої серії моделі 1905 Cadillac Osceola у масштабі 1:43 виробництва VDM Models. Робота над моделями була призупинена через повномасштабне вторгнення росії в Україну, а тепер нарешті відновлена.
