High Voltage PTC Heaters in EVs: Cabin Heating, Battery Preheating, and HVAC

As EV platforms move to 400V and 800V architectures, thermal management takes up more of the design work.

A high voltage PTC heater heats the cabin, preheats the battery, and supports the HVAC system. For battery preheating, it gives the battery thermal management system a controllable heat source.

Selecting one means looking beyond voltage and power:

-Heating power
-Thermal transfer
-Electrical insulation
