A headlight projector retrofit Simply put, is putting xenon and also known as high intensity discharge (H.I.D) projectors into halogen headlights. The main components needed to retrofit a headlight are Projectors, Bulbs, Ballast, Shrouds and a wire harness. All the projectors that we have in stock are bi-xenon projectors, this means that it has high and low beam incoporated in the projector. The p
rojectors that we normally use are Morimoto mini bi-xenon h1 projector, and Morimono mini bi-xenon d2s projector. These projectors are used alot by retrofitters because of their performance, small size and are easy to install. a simple google search will give you several examples and reviews on them. These projectors are what we keep in stock but we can source almost any HID Projectors, OEM or aftermarket. Why do a projector retrofit:
Retrofits are done for both style and performance. A well crafted retrofit can stand out from the crowd but still look like it came from the factory. The brilliant light a projector provides both in intensity and color will make your car stand out from the rest. From a distance you will see its beatuful color flicker and up close the light output and its sharp and colorful cutoff will have people amazed. Why dont i just buy aftermarked projector headlights for my car:
Most aftermarket projector headlights available for your car will tend to blind oncomming traffic and have very little light output on the road, even with a HID kit installed. This is because they are LHD (Left hand drive) Projectors designed for Halogen use. The Projectors we use are RHD (Right hand drive) Projectors and are designed especially for HID. a way to see if you have LHD or RHD projectors is to shine them on a wall, if the left side is higher than the right or driver side then its RHD and vise versa, the right side is lower so it does not blind oncomming traffic. refer to the Output Shot section in pictures to see a comparison on LHD and RHD. Why don't i just put a HID kit in my existing headlight:
This is not recommended because your headlight is not disigned to take HID, the result will be alot of glare and you probably will blind and dazzle oncoming traffic and pedestrians. With a projector retrofit there is a cutoff, caused by a shield inside the projector, that does not alow any light above a certain point, this will prevent light from blinding oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
