'We have since noted the increase in the cost of new and foreign used vehicles as a direct result of the restrictive policies of the PNM.
Today I am pleased to announce that in keeping with our 2025 General Election commitment to make vehicle ownership affordable again, I propose the following:
(i) an increase in the permissible age of importation of private cars (SUVs, Sedans and Station Wagons) which are powered by gasoline, diesel or CNG from 3 years and under, to 6 years and under, from the date of manufacture; and
(ii) an increase in the permissible age of importation of light commercial vehicles (pickups and panel vans) from 7 years and under, to 10 years and under, from the date of manufacture.
This measure will take effect from January 1 2026.' - Tancoo

MEDIA RELEASE: THE LICENSING DIVISION TRANSITIONS FROM THE USE OF DRIVER'S PERMITS TO DRIVER'S LICENCE

The transition from a “Driver’s Permit” to a “Driver’s Licence” will also improve regional and international authorities’ recognition of an authentic driving licence issued by the Transport Commissioner as the Licensing Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.

We take the security of our customers seriously. In a vehicle rental, keeping records is crucial. Not only that but it helps us protect ourselves by having records if anything goes wrong to present to the Police Service. If you ever get into an accident, vehicle gets stolen or the unthinkable we want to keep all parties safe and secured.

We require some simple documents from you. Thanks for co-operating.
