What is Tempered Glass?
Tempered glass is a particularly durable type of traditional glass, obtained through the unique technology of tempering the glass at high temperatures. This processing allows the glass to gain additional strength and reliability, furthermore it has increased popularity among consumers and in many industrial areas.

CURVED GLASS (annealed / furnace)
Customized shapes can be concave or convex, depending on the desired curvature. Once the desired shape has been obtained, a slow and controlled cooling process of the glass called “annealing” begins to eliminate the stress that will develop in the glass. This is the most important step in curved glass production.
Curved annealed glasses are applicable in many different applications in terms of use. Glass doors, furniture glass, showcases, revolving doors, spiral staircase railings, vehicles, external and internal partitions, etc.
• Some soft (magnetron) and all hard (pyrolytic) coatings can be used.

• Slow controlled bending process is ensured by long heating and cooling phases (on average 5-8 hours).

TEMPERED CURVED GLASS
To correctly temper the glass, such processes as cutting, edge polishing, drilling or notching should be made before the heating. (Since after tempering, no other process, except sandblasting can be applied to the surface and edges of the glass.) The flat glass layer, whose pre-preparation has been completed, is heated up to approximately 600 ° C in the furnace. It takes the desired curvature form by being bent by the rollers inside the tempering system without the need for an external mold.
The next step is the process of solidification of the formed glass. The surface is hardened by the sharp cooling of the curved glass during tempering. Thus, as a result of tempering, the molecular structure of the glass changes, and it becomes much stronger. In these glasses, the durability of which is increased, the required bending can be achieved without the need for thickening, since they are reinforced and have increased strength.

Tempered curved glass is more resistant to breakage and fragmentation than untreated glass of the same thickness. In existing hardening furnaces, only one radius can be made. Therefore, J- and U-shapes and double curvatures cannot be used.
