Diplomatic Plate Car Procedures (CD – CC =CM)
Depends on the buyer Diplomatic status and title, car registration has different procedures. Custom procedures of embassies, consulates official cars or core diplomats vehicles requires the Form B (Takrir / Declaration) which is prepared by related mission admin office and validation of Foreign Affairs needed. After the custom paperwork, road inspectio
n and application for the number plate are next steps. Married Diplomats has right to import 2 tax free cars for their own and spouse usage. Blue Plate Car Procedure (B – CM)
Blue Plate Car ( CM Plate), which belongs to administrative or technical staff who works for embassies, consulates or international organizations, requires the Form C (Taahhütname /Undertaking ) which is prepared by related Missions and validation of Foreign Affairs.
2. VISITOR PLATE CARS (MA – MZ) AND CUSTOM PRODUCERS
Beside the diplomats and international mission’s employees, some other foreigners located in Turkey are also allowed to drive tax free cars. But, depends on their status in Turkey, foreigners who are eligible to drive tax free cars are classified in two different category. First group of people are exempt to pay TURING DEPOSIT and second group have to pay TURING DEPOSIT. Turing deposit is a must, Visitor Plate cars are exempt from the tax because of this reason custom authority issued a list of deposit amount which depends on the model of the car and engine size. According to legislation, turing deposit can be paid in cash (TL, USD, EURO) or letter of guarantee issued by a bank which is located in Turkey. Foreigners who are required to pay Turing Deposit
• Work permit holders work for private company or public organization
• Foreigner who has retired in his home country
• University students
• Foreign instructors
• Licensed sportsman b. Foreigners who are not required pay Turing Deposit
According to legislation, employees who work for an organization listed below are exempt from Turing deposit however they must provide undertaking letter (Taahhütname) which has sealed by their organization.
• Embassy and Consulate officials and attended
• NATO Officers and Staff
• Specialist who are working in International Projects
• Press Members
3. INTERNATIONAL PLATE CARS DEALERSHIP
Turkish or other international visitors who are visiting Turkey temporarily with their international plate car which is registered in their passport are not allowed to sell their car to other foreigners who has the right to drive tax free car in Turkey.They are allowed to hand over to another foreigner to export it in required time period. NUMBER PLATE – ROAD INSPECTION- INSURANCE

5. IMPORT PROCEDURES OF TURKISH DIPLOMATS OR OFFICIALS CARS
After they finished their mission, Turkish Diplomats, Army Officers, or Officers working in International organizations has a right to import a vehicle without paying custom Taxes but pay Private Consumption TAX (OTV) and Value Added Tax (KDV). We do serve them with importation procedures, road inspection and certificate of suitability (TSE) , number plate registration.
