At Bell Racing Helmets, we are committed to bringing you cutting-edge technology that enhances performance, safety, and reliability at every level of motorsport.
We would like to issue an important advisory regarding the painting of helmets equipped with the SmartLock™ system.
Please ensure that painters do NOT remove the SmartLock™ system when painting the helmet.
Removing the SmartLock™ can lead to excess paint being applied to the shell behind the SmartLock™, which may affect the proper closure of the visor and compromise helmet performance.
We strongly recommend that:
1) All painters leave the SmartLock™ system in place and carefully mask the component during the painting process.
2) We are developing clear instructions for the exceptional cases where removal of the SmartLock™ may be required. Until these official guidelines are released, the system must remain in place as outlined in point 1.
We kindly ask all teams, drivers, and partners to communicate this message clearly to our customers, drivers, and any third-party painters or service providers handling helmet customization.
This guidance applies to all helmets featuring the SmartLock™ system and is essential for maintaining product performance and safety.
