Hey, it's me again. LTA is rolling out AI cameras on buses to catch bus lane offenders. But I've been looking at some bus lanes — and I have to wonder, are they actually designed safely? 🚗

The numbers: Trials detected an average of 7 vehicles driving in bus lanes per bus per day. LTA issues about 36,800 summonses a year for bus lane offences.

My concern: There's a particularly long bus lane I have to travel before reaching home. First, I have to keep right to the middle lane. Then the long bus lane stretches just before a traffic light — where I have to keep left to turn left. The distance is so short to overtake and turn left. And I can't keep left early because the bus lane is there.

It's confusing and I always feel like a car is gonna knock me from behind if I'm not able to speed up and overtake in time.

My take: Bus lanes are important. But if the road design itself is confusing or dangerous, fines alone won't fix the problem.

To enable bus lanes to be more efficient, my question to you today is — which bus lane in Singapore do you think is the most confusing — or even dangerous? Let me know in the comments. 👉🏻

Hey, it's me again. People always complain about the high COE — even if they're not car owners. But did you know where that COE money actually goes? 🚗

Where it goes: It doesn't go to LTA. It goes into the government's consolidated account — helping to fund healthcare, education, security, roads, and public transport subsidies.❤️

Who benefits? Everyone. Even if you don't own a car, you're still benefiting from COE revenue.

The big numbers: Last financial year, COE premiums alone collected over S$8.6 billion — more than the GDP of some countries.

My take: COE prices are high. But here's a fairer way to think about it. When you pay for a COE, you're contributing to the country. Even if you don't own a car, you're still benefiting from it.

Even though I've been buying and selling cars for so long, 🤔 I didn't know where the money went until I read it not long ago.
