K.I.S.S me: Many don't understand how batteries work, but it's ok we can explain.
Batteries are actually electrical pumps. Imagine your wires and circuits as water pipes. The water in the pipes is your electrical current, measured in Amperes, and the speed of the water in your pipes measured in Volts.🔋⚡️
Other than being a pump, your battery also stores power and this amount of power can be charged and discharged over time. As with everything else including humans, it degrades with age and usage, unfortunately
Once worn out, your electrical pump can no longer supply short bursts (commonly referred to as CCA/Cold Cranking Amps) to fire up your vehicle's starter. This can be true even if the battery's voltage is healthy (>12.5v). Modern batteries usually last about 2 years before this happens, with normal usage. Anything more is a plus, anything less and something may be draining and overworking your battery.⚠️
