are FORGED wheels really stronger?
One of the biggest claims you'll hear is that forged wheels are stronger. But is it true?
In general, yes.
During the forging process, a solid billet of aluminium is compressed under extremely high pressure. This refines the metal's grain structure, resulting in a wheel with greater strength compared to a cast wheel of a similar design.
This increased strength allows engineers to use less material while maintaining the wheel's structural performance, which is why forged wheels are often lighter as well.

However, it's important to understand what "stronger" actually means.
A forged wheel is not indestructible. Hitting a deep pothole, kerb or road hazard at sufficient force can still bend or crack any wheel, regardless of how it was manufactured.
The real advantage is that forged wheels are engineered to achieve an excellent balance of strength, weight and durability, making them a popular choice for performance cars, motorsport and enthusiasts who value engineering

It's about how well your tyre resists heat buildup during sustained high-speed driving. Here's what the ratings mean

During laboratory testing, tyres must demonstrate adequate heat resistance at:

• Grade A: Over 185 km/h

Grade B: 160-185 km/h

Grade C: 135-160 km/h

These ratings come from a laboratory test where the tyre runs on a high-speed drum to evaluate how well it dissipates heat.

In general, the higher the temperature grade, the better the tyre's resistance to heat buildup during prolonged high-speed operation.
