Skoda Karoq 1.5 intake system clogged with nasty grime and thick carbon buildup due to prolonged periods of idling and common for direct injection engines.
This heavy carbon accumulation restricts airflow and leads to rough idling, engine hesitation, misfires and drop in fuel economy or power.
The check engine light came on and it was time to head down to our workshop.

Specialized mechanical intake cleaning via walnut blasting technique was performed to strip away at even the toughest baked-on carbon deposits.
